The Rotary Club of Salem invites community organizations to apply for their 2021/2022 Good Works Large Grant. Eligible projects for consideration are those that directly or indirectly foster, develop, promote, and encourage the health, education, and general welfare (primarily of youth) in the city of Salem and the surrounding area. Interested applicants should submit proposals for a project focused on service performed by Salem area non-profit organizations.
Ideally, the Good Works Large Grant will be awarded to a program that uses the funds for long-term projects that provide benefits to the community for years to come (such as public space improvements, self-sustaining programs, etc.), as opposed to projects which exhaust the funds after a short time frame (salaries, program fees, etc.).
The Rotary Club Good Works Committee will review all submissions and may conduct oral interviews with the finalists in the early November timeframe. An organization chosen for the interview round (should one occur) will be given adequate time to prepare. A formal announcement on the decision for the recipient of the Good Works Large Grant will be made by the end of December of 2021. The Rotary Club of Salem Board of Directors will have final say on what project(s) to fund. All applicants will be notified of their application status by January 15 th , 2022.
The receiving organization will be paired up with a Rotarian to help establish appropriate engagement requirements, including ways to co-create a successful event, involve the individuals your organization serves as well as your existing base of support.
The total amount available is up to $60,000. Projects should conclude by June 30, 2023. After the distribution of funds, the organization selected as the Good Works recipient will be required to deliver reports on the progress of its project to the Good Works Committee during the year of the award and future years as requested.
To apply, please complete the application below. Applications must be received no later than November 7th, 2021. If you have any questions, please contact Adam Kohler at firstname.lastname@example.org
