April 19: Early Childhood Attachment…What it is and Why We Care!

Today we welcome Ariahna Hays, a licensed therapist, who will help us understand the importance of the psychological phenomenon of early childhood attachment. Aria was a Rotary Exchange Student in high school and thanks to Rotary, spent 10 months in Ecuador! Aria will explore what it means, how it is created, what can happen when it isn’t present, how it can be promoted/repaired, and even how you might recognize certain behaviors in your employees. This program is significant as many experts see the connection between attachment disorders, substance abuse, and homelessness. Understanding these issues can help our entire community be healthier.

Aria Hays holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Brigham Young University-Idaho, and a Master’s in Social Work from George Fox University. She works as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker at Hope and Wellness Services and provides therapy in English and Spanish.  She specializes in working with children and youth who have experienced trauma. She is passionate about empowering clients and families to find healing through therapeutic play and attachment.
