President’s Message

Then and Now: A Higher Education Transformation

When I graduated from Oregon State University in 1982, online learning wasn’t even on the horizon. Fast forward to today, and OSU has made remarkable strides in offering high-quality online programs that serve students across the globe.

This week, we’ll learn more about these innovative online learning opportunities at our upcoming meeting. Later in my academic journey, I pursued a Master of Science in Business at Marylhurst University in Lake Oswego. At the time, Marylhurst was one of the few institutions offering weekend and evening classes—a lifeline for those of us balancing full-time jobs with our studies.

Today, the landscape of higher education has changed dramatically. Most major universities now offer the flexibility of earning the same degrees virtually. This shift has opened doors for countless working adults to pursue their educational goals in ways that were once out of reach.

I look forward to learning more about the exciting programs now being offered by my alma mater.
