April 2nd – CASA of Marion County

In recognition of Child Abuse Prevention Month, Rotarian Vanessa Nordyke will present facts, stories, and analysis of Oregon’s foster care system based on her experiences working with foster youth at CASA of Marion County. CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) is the legal party for every Marion child in foster care, dedicated to advocating for the best interests of youth in foster care. How has foster care changed over time, and what challenges face foster youth today? These questions and more will be explored during this presentation.

Program Chair – Sue Bloom

Meeting Location: Grant Room, Broadway Commons

President’s Message

Starting April 9, food will be available for purchase Last week, I conducted an informal poll, and there was unanimous interest in having sandwiches and wraps, along with chips, available for purchase at our meetings.

Jennifer Mills, our Secretary and Treasurer, will be testing the club’s credit card machine at this week’s meeting to ensure everything runs smoothly. Starting April 9, we will officially begin offering these food items for sale each week.

We’ve finalized the logistics and will place both the cashier’s and food tables near each other as you enter the room to make the process as convenient as possible.

We anticipate continuing to refine and improve our setup in the weeks to come. Thank you for your enthusiasm and support!
