President’s Message
Making the Most of the 2025-26 Rotary Year
I have been looking forward to this week’s program ever since Bruce Anderson was able to secure our State Attorney General, Dan Rayfield. I met Dan several years ago when he was serving in the legislature. As a member of the Oregon Society of CPAs Legislative Action Committee I had the opportunity to deliver a campaign contribution to Mr. Rayfield at his law office in Albany and spend a few minutes discussing some legislative topics that would be part of the upcoming session of the Oregon Legislature.
As the weeks of 2025-26 begin to roll by, we each need to make sure we stop and look at the Rotary landscape. Make the most of the 2025-26 Rotary year by creating and fulfilling a personal Rotary bucket list:
- Sponsor a new member (growing membership is a key priority goal of our club and most clubs)
- Plan to volunteer at our club’s next hands-on service project (listen for upcoming announcements)
- Expand your family by welcoming a Rotary Youth Exchange student
- Arrange a small meeting with Rotary friends outside of a weekly meeting
- Start or continue your donation to The Rotary Foundation (TRF) – $8.33 per month adds up to $100 for the year; the club goal for every member – Rotary Direct
- Visit another club meeting and invite another Rotarian to visit our club
- Share a hands-on service project idea with Alicia Bay, chair of the Community Needs Committee
- Submit a bell ringer that will be shared at a weekly Rotary meeting – what happened in your life that you want to share with your Rotary friends.
- Visit Rotary.org to learn about Rotary education offerings that might help you at work or just in life in general – The Learning Center.
Remember you can purchase an ordered lunch through Little Lois or Better Than Mamas, or purchase at our meeting from Better Than Mamas (sandwiches or salads).
We will gain another new member, this time through transfer and I am sure we will have several bell ringers about all our summer activities.
See you on Wednesday.
