May 3: Marion-Polk Early Learning Hub: Making a Difference for Children!

There is an adage that it takes a village to raise a child. It is amazing when that “village” includes effective programs, systems, and policies to support the family and the child. Enter the Early Learning Hubs! Early Learning Hubs exist in 16 regions across Oregon. They focus on cross-sector partnerships, such as Human Services, Health, Early Learning, K-12 Education, and Housing to create local systems that are aligned, coordinated, and family-centered. What does that look like in the Marion & Polk region? Come find out a few of the specific programs, systems, and policy work to support children, families, and the workforce.

Program Chair: Alison Kelley

Meeting Location: Willamette Heritage Center Dye Room

President’s Message
Rotarians,
This week we will be back at the Willamette Heritage Center, back in the Dye House.  Sue Bloom will be stepping in for me. Alison Kelley will be chairing the third program in honor of National Child Abuse Prevention Month. This week we will hear from Lisa Harnisch, of the Marion Polk Early Learning Hub.
Ok, so no one told me that we were having a Rotary makeup meeting at the Oregon Community Foundation 50th Anniversary Reception at the Chemeketa Ag Complex. Look at all these awesome Rotarians, supporting OCF. Thank you, Jenn Columbus, for all your hard work.

Cheers!

David
