May 8th – Ukraine War Impact on Oregon Wheat Industry, CEO Amanda Hoey
With a war raging in the world’s “breadbasket” and conflicts in a part of the world that is a prime export market for Oregon wheat, our state’s wheat farmers face even more uncertainty than normal. How are Oregon wheat producers coping with both world supply challenges and market disruptions? What is the impact to the state as growers of one of its top export products confront such instability?
Come learn from Amanda Hoey, CEO of the Oregon Wheat Commission about Oregon’s wheat industry and the almost 2,000 farmers who produce this valuable commodity.

The Global Impact of War
Greetings, Fellow Rotarians!
I hope this note finds you well! Special thanks to Past President Tammy Denee for filling in for me last week – that cold I came down with last weekend was a whopper. I’m sorry I missed the meeting but enjoyed watching the recording.
This week we will turn our attention to the global impact of war as we learn about the effects of the Ukraine war on our local wheat industry. The global appetite for violence, conquest and war is having a devastating effect on too many innocent people. As Rotarians, we are leaders in peacemaking. I’m proud of our Program Committee for bringing this topic forward and look forward to seeing you Wednesday!
See you Wednesday!
Yours in Rotary Service,
Kindly,
