President’s Message

This Thanksgiving: Reflecting on Gratitude and Rotary’s Impact

This year’s Rotary theme of UNITE FOR GOOD is powerful to keep in mind as we celebrate Thanksgiving 2025. Thanksgiving is a time to reflect and count your blessings. Intentionally acknowledge the GOOD things in your life. Use the time to UNITE with the people who you care about most – family, friends, and mentors – but don’t hesitate to open your home to those who might otherwise be alone on Thanksgiving. Gratitude is a very important aspect of Thanksgiving. Make a point to carry gratitude as a daily tool that you put to use throughout the year. Thanksgiving is a time to reflect on the gratitude exhibited throughout the past months while preparing to recognize situations that will occur in the coming months that you can also be grateful for. Part of the reflection that occurs at Thanksgiving causes us to look back and acknowledge how we have navigated our way or helped others navigate their way through difficult circumstances, situations, or challenges. Shift your perspective to discover and focus on what is good rather than what is wrong or lacking. As others around you share thoughts of Thanksgiving, allow yourself to receive love and support, knowing that sometimes this can be difficult. We have so much to be thankful for. This year’s Rotary theme calls us to bring our time, talents, and treasure together for the benefit of others who are less fortunate.

During the month of November we have UNITED FOR GOOD to:

  • award three grants to local nonprofit organizations totaling $76,560 and
  • award several literacy grants totaling $21,000 to enhance local educational opportunities

Be thankful for the generosity of Rotarians who have UNITED their treasure to fund these GOOD opportunities.

I am looking forward to seeing all of you on Wednesday when we will have the pleasure of hearing from exchange student Maren about her year spent in Germany.

Remember to bring your Tree of Joy gifts and provide them (unwrapped) to Dawn Bostwick and her helpers. Thanks.

See you on Wednesday!!
