Motivational experts tell us that the more we focus on a goal, the more likely it is to come true. Therefore let’s focus today on the goal of Salem Rotary Foundation (SRF) to grow its permanent fund to $1 million. The commitment to this goal was made in 2010, at a time when the SRF balance was $266,000. We gave ourselves ten years to meet our goal. Now, we’re five years into it. And guess what? We are more than halfway there (56%)…
Most importantly, remember the purpose of this effort. Imagine the good we can do as our funds grow! Helping just one person or family or organization has a huge ripple effect – others benefit indirectly from our generosity as well. Many of our community’s needs are met due to the Salem Rotary Foundation. We make a difference!
At tomorrow’s meeting, representatives of non-profit organizations will describe how club member gifts to the Salem Rotary Foundation have been used during the past year, giving members a chance to celebrate what it means to be a Rotarian.
