We’re happy to welcome our newest member David White. Learn a little more about David by reading this introduction, read at last week’s meeting by his sponsor, Dawn Bostwick:
“It is very much my pleasure to invite David White to become a member of our club.
David was born and raised in Lawrence Kansas and graduated from Lawrence High School. In his youth, David participated in 4-H, Boys Scouts, Coached Soccer, and took first place in State Competitions in Gymnastics for three straight years. David was involved in several bike clubs, and rode across Kansas, Colorado, and Missouri. He attended Kansas University (Go Jay Hawks!) with his sight set on engineering.
Somewhere along the trail however, David took a road less traveled, and has had a very interesting and eclectic list of vocations:
David has been a Chef, a Baker, Construction Worker, Manufacturer of T-Shirts, Wine Educator in various wineries in Napa and Sonoma Valleys, where he perfected his wine tasting. He worked in a liquor store in Kansas City where he was robbed every Friday and Saturday night. David was also a Banker, a Pool Cleaner, and a Limo Driver. David is now becoming a successful insurance agent, specializing in business insurance. We are pretty sure he has found his niche.
David is an active member of our community and is involved in Chamber events, Habitat for Humanity, is a member of the Homebuilders Association, and belongs to the Salem Young Professionals organization.
David knows his BBQ sauce and wines. When our office has BBQs, David is our head cook and makes the best Tri-Tip and BBQ chicken you will ever taste. Feel free to invite him over to your place if you need someone to ‘man the grill’.
David is married to his wife Sarah, who is an Account Executive for the Doctor’s Company. They were blessed with a baby boy in May, who they named Ryder. David’s family is complete with two Jack Russel Terrier dogs. David still has family back in Kansas and goes back to visit when he can – as there’s no place like home.
David’s energy and appreciation of our community will make him a great addition to our club. He is already on one committee!”
