2/11 Kyle Dickinson – SLF Capacity Building Project
Kyle Dickinson has been a “generosity broker” for over 25 years in multiple settings including Universities, Youth Development Organizations, Shelter and Recovery Programs, and Community Organizing. He loves to encourage, organize, and inspire people to be generous and steward what they have.
As Executive Director of the Salem Leadership Foundation, he is heading up a new Development Cohort that is designed to build capacity and deepen connections amongst local fundraising professionals. Ultimately, building a stronger, more resilient nonprofit sector and local economy.
Come to this week’s meeting prepared to learn more about this year-long, ground-breaking program.

Uniting for Good: Local Rotary Answers Call for
Impact Over Ceremony in Peace Building Month
The month of February is designated as Peacebuilding and Conflict Prevention Month. Rotary International President, Francesco Arezzo calls on us to learn from peace fellows and other peace experts in our organization by applying a peacebuilding lens to community assessments and prioritize IMPACT over CEREMONY.
Our monetary community investments thus far in the 2025-26 Rotary year have provided IMPACT to:
- 12 local schools and education-focused nonprofit organizations through Literacy Grants ($21,000)
- 3 local nonprofit organizations who received Large Grants to make investments in projects for multi-year programs in youth training and education ($76,560)
- 2 exchange students (one inbound and one outbound) who are experiencing a foreign country learning experience ($2,000)
- 2 World Community Service projects in foreign countries (Ghana and Haiti). UNITING FOR GOOD with other Clubs ($5,200)
- The Rotary Foundation (TRF) – $5,000
We have also provided IMPACT over CEREMONY through our HANDS-ON projects including:
- August 18 – Helping Hands Resources
- October 1 – Salem Harvest
- December 3 – Safe Sleep
- 2 Quarterly Blood Drive events
- Winter time staffing and donations to the Warming Shelter at First Presbyterian Church
- December 13 – Salvation Army bell ringing
- December – Tree of Joy gifts for Salvation Army
- December – Tree of Joy gifts for Oregon State Hospital
- February 4 – Marion/Polk Food Share
