President’s Message

Giving Real Service

Greetings, Fellow Rotarians!

“To give real service, you must add something which cannot be bought or measured with money, and that is sincerity and integrity.” (Douglas Adams)

This quote jumped off page 27 of The Rotary Book of Readings (©2019, The Rotary Club of Hobart). It is a fitting description of the members of our Rotary Club of Salem, who routinely go above and beyond in their service above self. If you are looking for inspiration for your 2024 New Year’s Resolutions, just look around you at your fellow club members each week, and let their sincerity and integrity inspire you this new year!

What is our Next Big Thing? Our Salem Rotary 2024 Good Works Gala! (https://rotaryclubofsalem.com/salem-rotary-2024-good-works-gala/). Let’s make this the BEST ONE EVER!! Let’s honor the hard work of the Good Works Committee and fill the room! If you have friends who are generous in their giving and not connected to Rotary, invite them to join us for a wonderful and inspiring evening that night!  Please buy your tickets as soon as possible! Thank you!

I’m so excited for our program this week and want to thank our Program Committee for their thoughtfulness in continuing to put together a diverse array of programs, all designed to enrich our thinking and inspire our engagement. Special thanks to this week’s Program Chair, Linda Bednarz, and super special thanks to Past President Bruce Anderson for leaning in to chair this committee this year. Also super special thanks to our President-Elect Cathy Grimes, and President-Elect Nominee Doug Parham who are generously investing their time in many ways, including on the Program Committee!

Have a wonderful Tuesday and look forward to seeing you Wednesday!

Yours in Rotary Service,

Kindly,

President Alison Kelley
