March 27th – Panel Discussion – Hunger in Our Community

Hunger. It affects all walks of life, in fact, 1 in 10 people in Oregon face hunger, even right here in Salem. This week’s program is a panel discussion about hunger in our community.

Kyle Miller – Head Start, Lara Ashenfelter – area shelters, and Rick Gaupo – Meals on Wheels, will be our panel guests. They will be sharing about their organization’s challenges and experiences when serving children, seniors, and homeless people experiencing hunger and food insecurity.

Program Chair: Elise Bauman

Meeting Location: Willamette Heritage Center – Dye House

President’s Message

Leading by Example

Greetings, Fellow Rotarians! I hope this note finds you well!

Thank you SO much, all those of you to took the time to register for the State of the City address last week and made the effort to be there! We had a LOT of Rotarians in the room, and you made me very proud to be serving as your President this year. Having so many of you there really spoke volumes about your commitment to our city, and showcased how Rotarians lead by example, so please accept my heartfelt thanks.

I’m looking forward to our program this week which will help us understand how hunger affects the most vulnerable in our community: the elderly, the homeless, and children. Special thanks to Program Chair Elise Bauman!

I appreciate you all and look forward to seeing you Wednesday!

Yours in Rotary Service,

Kindly,

President Alison Kelley
