January 29 –  Salem Convention Center
Program: Oregon Hemp Production

In 2019, Oregon experienced an incredible increase in industrial hemp production. From a handful of acres the previous year, farmers planted more than 60,000 acres of hemp last year. Almost half of the hemp plants grown in 2019 came from a company in Molalla, NW Transplants. Lauren Lucht, owner of NW Transplants, will provide a look back and a look forward as Oregon farmers prepare for the 2020 production season.

Message from President Tammy

Greetings Rotary Friends,

It is just over two weeks until we celebrate our 100th Birthday on February 5th and culminate our three-year fundraising effort to support our Centennial project on February 8th. I hope you have your calendar marked and tickets purchased for the Good Works event on the 8th? If not, you can purchase them after this week’s meeting. Just ask the Cashiers or Chuck to assist you.

February is a big month because immediately after our birthday and fundraiser, we will join with the City for the “State of the City” meeting on February 12. Tickets can be purchased in advance during our regular meeting.

Hey Red Badge members, please remember you can earn points towards your Blue Badge by attending a Club Board Meeting. The regular schedule is the second Tuesday of the month at Chuck Swank’s Office at 4:45 pm. However, in February we will convene on the 18th. We do strive to keep the calendar on the website and Eblast current. If you notice a glitch, please let one of the Board members know and we will get it remedied in short order.

Special thanks to all the Committee Chairs for the work being done to maintain the excellent standards of service in our Club. We are truly blessed. If you need to find a committee, a link to the full list is posted weekly in the Eblast. Don’t hesitate to get involved.

Have a great week. See you Wednesday!
