March 6th – Salem Keizer Schools Music Program – Sumpter Elementary
The Sumpter Elementary School Choir, directed by their teacher – Bethea Gliebe, will present a vocal concert for our club. The Sumpter Elementary Choir is the largest elementary choir in the state and one of the very best. The Salem-Keizer Elementary Choir program, along with the elementary band and string orchestra programs, are where the foundational skills are developed that enable the success of the outstanding Salem-Keizer middle and high school choirs.
Please come in person to be able to appreciate and support these very talented kids and observe their outstanding vocal skills and discipline.
Program Chair: Karl Raschkes
Meeting Location: Willamette Heritage Center – Spinning Room
What is your “Why?” Are You Willing to Share It?
Greetings, Fellow Rotarians! I hope the week is off to a great start for you! I for one am happy about seeing bright new green buds on local trees! I’ve noticed some plum blossoms bravely peeking out even in the freezing cold we’ve had lately. Spring is coming – I’m confident!
Spring reminds me of new beginnings, and new beginnings remind me that we have been lucky enough to welcome many new members into our club this year – and there are more on the way! It dawned on me that it would be cool if we could share our “why” with them – why do you love Rotary? Why do you belong to OUR club? What about Rotary stirs your heart?
I invite you veteran members to look for one or more of our new members at one of our lunches and spend some time getting to know them. New members, feel free to ask about their “why?” What a great conversation starter! Let’s use this new season to stir up our excitement about our passion for Rotary!
I look forward to seeing you Wednesday!
Yours in Rotary Service,
Kindly,
