D.J. Vincent, Deputy Director of Salem Leadership Foundation and founding pastor of Church at the Park (C@P,) will present about the development and work of C@P, the non-profit that is creating Micro Shelter Communities for unsheltered people in Salem.
C@P was formed in 2007 to interact in a relational way with people who experience homelessness. As the Capital of Oregon, Salem is a central hub in the State for those who experience homelessness, incarceration, and mental illness. C@P has three functioning priorities: Collaborative Navigation, Emergency Sheltering, and Workforce Development.
The focus of their Micro Shelter Communities is the provision of a safe, sanitary, and supportive environment for guests to take the next steps towards housing and employment. With 24/7 staffing and on-site services, C@P seeks to maintain an environment of hope, dignity, and holistic care.
