President’s Message
Rotarians,

This week we will be at the Willamette Heritage center, DOWNSTAIRS in the Dye House.  Going forward, the Dye House is going to be our home, unless we get booted.

This week we have the honor of hosting Dr Steven Thorsett the president of Willamette University. Orn Bodvarsson will be chairing the meeting. It should be very interesting to hear about Willamette and what they have planned.

Unfortunately, my work is taking me out of town this week, and I will not be able to be at our meeting. Fortunately for you, Past President, Ron Keleman, has agreed to cover for me in my absence.  Thank you, Ron, for stepping in and helping me out at the last second.

Keep those pictures coming. But since I don’t have any pictures to share this week, I have some operational concerns to address.

1)     Many of you have asked me about the actual timeframe of our meetings. The following is the timeline for meetings that I inherited.
12:00 pm -12:10 pm Social time.
12:10 pm – Ring the bell and call the meeting to order.
12:10 pm -12:35 pm Club business and announcements.
12:35 pm – 1:00 pm Introduce the Program Chair and Program.
1:00 pm -1:10 pm Questions and conclude the meeting.
We are not officially late until 1:11 pm. So, now you know.

2)     Announcements vs Bell Ringers. I have been asked to define the difference between Announcements and Bell Ringers.

Here’s my simple definition: An announcement has to specifically with Rotary or our club. Everything else is a bellringer and will cost you $20.00. If you are in doubt, pay the $20.00 and say whatever you want.

Keep those pictures coming our else I will have to do operational updates every week.

I hope you all have a fantastic week.

Cheers!
David
