2020 Fall Literacy Grant Recipients Awarded

The Salem Rotary Literacy Committee recently awarded three grants for smaller projects or existing programs that promote increased literacy and/or reading skills for children within Salem and Marion and Polk Counties. Grants from the Salem Rotary Literacy Committee generally range between $500 to $2,500. The average grant size is $750.

The 2021 grant recipients include:

  1. Gilbert House Childen’s Museum received $750 to support its Little Free Library program.
  2. St Francis Shelter received $1,200 for its Library in a Box program.
  3. Boys and Girls Club received $2,200 to purchase and provide supplemental reading materials for students in Salem-Keizer’s distance learning program.

Interested applicants should submit requests for projects focused on literacy or the betterment of those skills performed by Salem area non-profit organizations. International literacy projects will also be considered.

Interested in applying? The next grant cycle opens Fall 2021. Applications must be emailed by Friday, November 20, 2021.
