President’s Message
Greetings, Fellow Rotarians!
I hope you had a fantastic time celebrating the Fourth of July and spending time with those you love! Those extra holidays can be just wonderful.
I’m so excited about this week’s program, which will be given by our longtime friend, Curt Arthur. Curt has a great sense of community and really cares about helping our community to become healthy. He has supported many local nonprofits and has built great personal and professional friendships in our area.
Curt’s approach to doing business reminds me of the vision of our Rotary founder, Paul Harris. As a young attorney in Chicago, Paul noticed how another attorney friend engaged with local shop owners as they walked around town after dinner one night. Paul realized he was missing that personal connection that had been so much a part of his rural upbringing, and figured that other professionals having recently moved from farms into the city might be feeling the same way. One thing led to another and in February, 1905 the first meeting of what would become Rotary was held. I just love Paul’s remarkable vision!
Enjoy your day and Create Hope in the World!
Kindly,
President Alison Kelley
