August 25: Buffalo Bill’s Wild West Visit to Salem
Our very own Rotarian Tom Glass will share stories and photos with us regarding Buffalo Bill’s Wild West visit to Salem in 1910.

Buffalo Bill was a buffalo hunter for the Union Pacific Railroad, scout with the U.S. 5th cavalry during the Indian war, and probably the greatest showman in American history. The Buffalo Bill Wild West stage show played across America for 10 years, including four times in Salem.

Meeting Location: Willamette Heritage Center’s Spinning Room

Program Chair: Sue Bloom

Message from President Chane

Greetings Fellow Rotarians:

Although I had a wonderful time on the Colorado River, I am grateful to have stayed on the dory boat and personally stayed away from the rattlesnakes and scorpions. And of course, being back in Salem and able to be with you on Wednesday is a welcomed change of pace.

Without access to cell phones during those two weeks, I was sad to hear, that some covid protocols are back in place, including wearing masks indoors. Please know that our board is reviewing the recent survey that was sent out. We will be looking at any deviations to our typical meeting scenarios that will help us to engage and retain our members. In the meantime, please join us tomorrow if you are able.

Take care,

Chane
