Program title: “An Oregon Legal Giant–James Tenney Brand”
Chief Justice DeMuniz will be speaking about his book entitled, James Tenney Brand: A Life in the Law: Country Lawyer, Oregon Supreme Court Justice, and Presiding Judge at the Nuremberg War Crimes Trial of Nazi Judges.
Justice Brand served on the Oregon Supreme Court and in 1946, was appointed by President Harry Truman to serve on the post-World Warr II military tribunal in which high ranking German judges and officials of the German Ministry of Justice were prosecuted in Nuremberg, Germany for their war crimes.

President’s Message
Good morning, Rotarians!
We’re back at our usual location this week, Cedar Hall in the Salem Alliance building. We may even have a community service surprise for everyone!
Last week I learned so much about the Willamette Education Service District while having our first off-site meeting there. I didn’t know that they help school districts across the valley with early learning, special education, administrative services, and technical education for junior and senior high school students. I had it in my mind that they only helped with technical issues.
My highlight was understanding that their Willamette Career Academy is very similar to CETC but is open to students outside of the Salem-Keizer School District, even home-schooled students. So Awesome!
