President’s Message

Hello Rotarians!

The best way to find yourself is in the service of others  -Mahatma Gandhi

I love this statement and find it to be 100% correct – it passes the 4-way test for me!

This Friday, July 17th, we have the opportunity to serve the newest of our neighbors, refugees. Salem for Refugees, a non profit organization, walks alongside families who have fled their homeland and helps them become part of our community.

Through resident services at Blossom Gardens, an apartment complex the organization owns, they create opportunities for learning and connection, helping families feel supported. We have an amazing opportunity to help create this connection, have fun, and be of service! We will be to helping with their Arts and Crafts Time for the children in the complex.

If creative art projects and simple board games are something you enjoy, please come share. My experience with these kids, from delivering fresh produce to the complex, is that they are fun-loving, engaging, and caring.

Let’s find ourselves in the service of these children and families! I’ll be there with my Rotary Club of Salem shirt on.

Looking forward to seeing you at the club meeting tomorrow!
