April 5: Celebrating Children!

Children are our future! We all want the children in our lives and community to succeed! Many of our recent Rotary investments have supported resources and programs for children of all ages.

Today we will hear from a panel of three experienced community leaders who will comment on the question, “What are the top three things you’d suggest we do to celebrate children?” Our panelists include Tanya Hamilton, Therapeutic Early Childhood Program Director, Family Building Blocks; Vanessa Nordyke, Executive Director of CASA of Marion County, Inc.; and Kyle Tarr, Prevention Director, Liberty House.

Program Chair: Alison Kelley

Meeting Location: Willamette Heritage Center Dye Room

President’s Message
Rotarians,

This week we will be back at the Willamette Heritage Center, Dye House. Our speaker this week will be Les Zaitz, the publisher of Salem Reporter.  Les is going to talk to our club about what is happening with local news reporting. This should be a very interesting talk.

I am going to be out of town for work this week, (yes I have another job) Rus McCracken has graciously offered to run the show.

This week’s Rotary moment picture comes from Chane Griggs where she snapped a picture of herself, Karin Holton from the E-Club of Salem and Assistant District Governor, and yours truly at the State of the City speech on Wednesday. I was very happy that the only obligation I had was to provide the flowers.
Have a great week and I will see you all next week back at the Willamette Heritage Center, Dye House.

Cheers!
David
